The business mastermind. A Graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelors in marketing and a Masters degree in creative brand management, Adeel Shams is the original mastermind who first launched the Cool Kicks brand as a college student working out of his dorm room, giving birth to a buy-sell-trade business model that would become the gold standard in the high-end sneaker world. After teaming with his best friends (and fellow VCU students) Bereket “BK” Abraham & Davon “Mook” Artis, to officially launch the business in their first retail location in Richmond, Virginia, the team has diversified their holdings to include restaurants, a sports collectibles store, and multiple Cool Kicks locations in Los Angeles.
Not satisfied with just becoming the coolest, most cutting-edge, and most culturally relevant shoe store in the sneaker game, Adeel and the Cool Kicks team have employed a unique social media strategy powered by their own charismatic personalities as brand ambassadors for their own company, which has grown into a wildly successful YouTube channel (over 1,000,000 subscribers), and a powerful presence across all social media platforms. And with their latest endeavor (a WEB3 digital marketplace using NFT technology to facilitate stock-market style exchange of sneakers & other collectibles) Adeel & his team continue their pattern of trend-setting innovation at the intersection of fashion, business, and knowing what’s cool.

Bereket “BK” Abraham, the cultured intellectual of the group, co-founded the original Cool Kicks store along with Adeel Shams and Davon Artis. While Adeel engineered the original business model, it was BK’s unrivaled knowledge of sneaker culture, and savvy understanding of fashion-trends & the importance of building personal brands and networking which elevated Cool Kicks from just being a successful business, to being a culturally iconic landmark.
BK also spearheaded the team’s decision to expand from Virginia to Los Angeles, and the launch of their YouTube content, two key ingredients in what ultimately became Cool Kicks unique brand identity, and the basis of their cultural relevance and direct connection to consumers & fans.

As the most outspoken, fun-loving, and risk-taking member of the team, Davon Artis has a bit of a reputation as a casanova, and an all around-instigator (his own description of his arrival to the team “I pulled up… And things got out of hand”).
